Ryan Royal Joins Upfront as Chief Technology Officer

Royal will lead technology strategy across the health tech company, with a keen eye toward innovation and transformative patient care.

CHICAGO (January 24, 2024) — Upfront, the health tech provider behind the industry’s leading platform for patient engagement, today announced that Ryan Royal will join the company as Chief Technology Officer. The strategic appointment reflects the company’s dedication to innovation and momentum following recognition on the Inc. 5000 list of the nation’s Fastest Growing Companies.

A seasoned technologist for more than two decades, Royal comes to Upfront from interviewstream, where he provided product and technology leadership behind a number of SaaS-based product lines. Before interviewstream, Royal served as CTO at CellTrak Technologies, where he spearheaded a $7 million investment to re-platform an aged technology stack and introduce automation, and significantly expanded the engineering team during his tenure. He previously worked in numerous IT and software engineering roles. Royal holds a bachelor’s degree in computer information systems from St. Ambrose University.

Royal joins the executive leadership team and will oversee Upfront’s product roadmap strategy, scaling global engineering teams, and pursuing new innovation strategies in support of the company’s overall vision for advancing patient engagement technology to drive transformative health outcomes. His leadership is pivotal, as Upfront invests in next-generation reporting and analytics and advancements in AI.
