Upfront Healthcare Welcomes Michelle Sobel

Upfront Healthcare offers a warm welcome to Michelle Sobel who joins the team as our Chief Experience Officer (CXO). As we kick off 2017, Upfront is excited to put our Visit Value™ findings to work for our clients in the form of targeted optimization programs. Michelle brings the knowledge and experience necessary to maximize client success with patient outreach and engagement. As such, she will lead all patient experience initiatives for Upfront’s Visit Optimization Services.

It’s often said that patients are the most underutilized resource in healthcare. Michelle has made a career of applying design thinking to digital health by making complex information accessible, relevant and actionable. In 2002, Michelle co-founded Emmi Solutions where she created a platform to deliver solutions to improve patients’ expectations prior to surgery, help them manage chronic conditions and improve their outcomes post-discharge. In 2008, she co-founded Analyte Health to bring lab testing services to telehealth with a primary focus on early detection of HIV and other infectious diseases.

In Michelle’s life before healthcare, she was a Creative Director at Jellyvision in the early days of interactive gaming. Prior to Jellyvision, she was a film editor where she worked with Merchant-Ivory, Martin Scorsese and other independent film directors.

Michelle holds a B.A. from Brown University. Born and raised in Chicago, she now lives in Colorado with her husband, urologist Dr. David Sobel and two teenage daughters. In her free time when she is not checking her daughters’ Instagrams, Michelle likes to hike in the Boulder foothills with her miniature Golden Retriever, Ozzy.

Michelle, we are thrilled to have you on board! We’re certain that as the parent of teenage girls, you are also qualified to function as the Chief Social Media Officer for Upfront while the rest of us try to figure out how to migrate off MySpace. You have surfaced the Achilles heel of our tenured team!
